Bishop Barry Clarke also gives his response in which he acknowledges both the protest and his intention to carry on regardless. This type of protest seems to accomplish little other than identifying the confirmed troublemakers to the diocesan hierarchy thereby limiting their career options. Still, perhaps it is better than the acquiescence implied by silence. [...]
