Good morning from Halifax! It’s a beautiful sunny day here, the foghorn is sounding and Morning Prayer is about to start.
Currently singing a a hymn that sounds like a précis of the Communist Manifesto.
Greetings from Archbishop Mancini, Roman Catholic Bishop of Halifax
Bishop Sue Moxley introduces Abp. Mancini who is also interested in “social justice issues”
Brings greetings from RC bishops of Canada. May the synod be blessed. Abp. Hiltz addressed the RC bishops last year. Thanks for choosing Halifax for General Synod. Barriers between RCs and Anglicans have come down through dialogue in good faith.
Catholic ordinariate is a “pastoral response” (ed – I love it. Worth coming just to hear that).
More on Anglican – RC “dialogue”. Bless this synod.
Standing ovation.
Motion 138. Passed.
Presentation to the Primate-‐ Canadian Bible Society
Thanks to the ACoC for supporting the Canadian Bible Society for 200 years. Presents Bible to Abp. Hiltz and Bp. Mark McDonald translated to Cree.
Arrrgh! Wifi just went down. Could this be a plot to shut me up? Never fear – now on handy Rogers rocket stick.
Vision 2019 -‐ Resolution
Rev. Peter Elliot now speaking.
Motion A114. is the relevant motion to receive Vision 2019 report.
Speaker – dio. New West. Motion has financial implications which have not yet been considered.
Speaker, dio. of Toronto. Supports motion. Must make church multi-cultural, multi-ethnic. Many immigrants entering Canada – how do we serve them?
Speaker – dio. of BC. Major flaw. Not enough focus on church growth. Still voting in favour.
Motion Passed.
Motion A113 Passed.

Rogers rocket stick? Sounds like something out of The Jetsons….. Great, now I have an earbug.
Worth investing in that stick, eh? Same sort of thing happened to me in ’07.
