Greetings from Ms. Mardi Tindal Moderator, The United Church of Canada.
Abp. Hiltz introduces Mardi Tindal who sees climate change (ed -used to be called global warming before climategate) as one of the major issues of our time.
The ACoC is part of the United church family. Together we are the body of Christ. Evidence of the ACoC’s strong spirit and witness.
United and ACoC are facing similar financial challenges. We should trust that Jesus meant it when he talked about abundant life. Numerous shared ministries listed – like MGDs.
Blessed by the presence of Anglicans at the climate change conference in Copenhagen. This is one of the greatest moral challenges of our time (ed – not the disposition of 6.6 billion immortal souls).
We stand together at the “gates of hope”. Applause. Standing ovation. (sigh)

Motion A086 Repudiate doctrine of discovery
Dio central interior: another way of correction how we’ve treated First Nation brothers and sisters.
Dio. of Brandon. In favour, but this is making a commitment to work together.
Dio. Nova Scotia. Also support the motion.
University land we are standing on were taken from some one. Appalled that we didn’t recognise this when we started.
Dio. of Algoma. We are arrogant- we know what is best. This doctrine is a horrible doctrine.
Dio. of New West. Eurocentric and arrogant idea.
Thankful to vote on this. Something about the “Blanket exercise” (ed – good grief, Anglicans just can’t stop talking.)
Dio. Central Interior. Agree with the concept. Are we talking about having a right of veto on what happens on the land?

Greetings from Anglican Church Women of Canada. We are praying for your synod. This is the 125 th. anniversary of the ACW. Ministry is the important part of the ACW, not bazaars etc. ACW are “tellers of the story”.
Explored creating a constitution. Includes all women in the ACoC.
Motto: “the love of Jesus calls us”.
PWRDF presentation
50th anniversary. Thanks to parishes and dioceses. Work with partners like KAIROS.
A lot of “joining hands” and “journeys”.

So, why is it the business of Synod to repudiate the doctrine of discovery, and what good does it do, exactly?
