From an interview with the vicar of Baghdad:

Have you had any of the issues that Western churches might face, over preferences of style, theology, leadership etc?

Early on we did. We had differences of opinion over theology from some of the church leaders. But they were all kidnapped and killed, so now we’ve got no problems.

This guy, this Vicar of Bagdad is likely one of the most interesting Anglican Priests one would ever want to meet.
I think the second last question and his answer to it is likely more truthful than most would ever have expected to hear from a “Vicar”.
The question and answer for those who won’t take the time to look them up are:
    Q. And there aren’t many who are prepared to deal with bad people. Do people say there are certain groups you shouldn’t be working with?
A.Oh yes. People do criticise. They are usually Christians. And Christians are really boring. I dare you to write that!

And we think we have challenges here in the Western World!!

A REAL hero – A Saint in the making if there ever was one! I can imagine his answer to the question (What do you think of the state of the Anglican Communion) – Uh sorry, I’m far to busy.

errrr! Come to think of it…I guess we do have the challenges here in the Western World. Seems most of us on this blog can’t even see the humour (truthful as it is) in this Vicar’s statement! I guess now I am being way to critical…….
Oh well, we can always call the Vicar of Bagdad….likely has a few contacts that could hang this one up to dry!!
