From the Telegraph:

Americans planning to start a civil war in the Church of England.

Could the American Church be about to start planting churches in England? That’s the intriguing possibility raised by one of its most influential clerics, who has indicated that this might be the only option given that Rowan Williams has sided with the conservatives.

Geoffrey Hoare, the Eton-educated vicar of All Saints Atlanta, one of the largest churches in TEC, has asked colleagues to consider how they could begin “seeking partners throughout the world” if effectively evicted from the Anglican Communion.

Given the Archbishop’s comments last week, which were much bolder and firmer than many expected, it looks as though the liberals would be second-class citizens in any two-tier Church. This should come as no surprise considering how they have continually defied the agreed position of the Communion and refused to heed the archbishop’s warnings.
It clearly came as no surprise to Hoare, who saw the way things were going last year and started taking action accordingly.

His analysis is pretty much bang on the money, realising, as the Archbishop appeared to concede last week, that the Communion has split. The final nail in the coffin came at the General Convention last month with the votes overturning the moratorium on appointing gay bishops and rites for same-sex blessings.

If his proposals are acted upon, the split in the Communion will also take place in the Church of England, as I warned last month, and Andrew Brown has also written.

One of the first steps would be a move to begin planting Churches in England in which our way of living and proclaiming the gospel would be welcomed by many as a breath of fresh air (while doubtless condemned by others as American arrogance).

Having spoken to a number of liberal clergy, they have indicated that they feel much closer to the Americans than evangelicals in the Church of England and would be open to some form of partnership.

Considering that TEC is losing about 28,000 members per year, this – if it actually happens – would be a bizarre case of exporting a marketing failure overseas, presumably as an experiment to see whether TEC could drive the same number of people out of the CofE.

In one way this could prove very interesting if TEC-UK went to court for buildings, most of which predate America. It would hard to stand in front of a judge with a straight face and argue for what they argued against over in the Colonies.

It wouldn’t work either. In England, the vicar is the legal owner of the building, but he or she can’t do anything to it without a faculty from the diocese.

The Church of England’s established status puts it in an entirely different situation from the Churches in North America.

I am really getting excited, if not a little afraid. Looseafurs “hand” is being shown in unprecedented ways. This may mean that his “time” is coming to an end as stated in Rev.12:12. If this is the case than we to have little time to truly “Gird our Loins” and wear all God’s armour. in other words do we need to ratchet up? Are you listening Hierarchy, +Bob +Don etc.? Matthew 24, Read it again dear brothers, than if the Holy Spirit moves allow the “weeping and gnashing of teeth” but for the sake of Christ.

You are moving and I love you dearly for it. I desperately need my church for the very purpose Jesus gave her to us. She will not save me but she can help us to see our way to the very end. May I humbly suggest the need for urgency? not for me, but for the great waters that are the deceived.

    Wanting to be unstuck.

Perhaps we’ll see a stand against Tec and its liberal allies in England if the ABC thinks the CofE is threatened.

I’m not convinced of the level of committment of the ABC in all this.. After all, we have witnessed time and time again the outright lies of KJS and TEC…..you know, we’ll tell them what we think they want to hear and then we’ll do what we want anyway.
Well, I wonder of the ABC is of the same cut of cloth as KJS and TEC? Look back at his previous, pre-ABC history and writings and it makes me really wonder. Hopefully he is starting to let the old man die and the new man become! If it happened to me, then it can happen to him, praise God.
I wonder, would TEC and KJS actually have the intestinal fortitude to try to infiltrate the CoE? Next thing we know she will be talking about taking over Australia and N.Z. (she and TEC virtually have the ACoC in their hip pocket). Ugh!!

I think you’ve nailed it on both counts. The ABC is a ditherer and KJS’s self importance knows no limits.

    And then again, perhaps not.

Earlier this I was doing a bit of research on the “Spirit of Jezebel” and came up with the following URl which I think seems to be pretty accurate..Sure does explain in great depth what the problem seems to be with KJS, TEC, ACoC, CoE, “et al”.
    It is worth the read.

Gerry thank you so much I have been looking for this reference for several years even before the beginning of our current sorrows (SSBs). In my circles at that time (renewal and growth in the Holy Spirit) I heard several Anglican Priests refer to some of our Bishops having a “Spirit of Jezebel” at the time I thought of this more as a frustration with the lack of ecclesiastical support. As the evidence of this mounted I kept remembering. It wasn’t until today that I was fully able to understand.

To all; My strong feelings are that herein is understanding that answers so many unanswerable questions.
Thank you again for sharing this my dear brother.
