On July 27, the wardens and rectors of three Ontario ANiC parishes – St George’s (Lowville), St Hilda’s (Oakville) and Good Shepherd (St Catharines) – met with representatives from the Anglican Church of Canada Diocese of Niagara and Mr Justice Yates for arbitration to resolve significant issues relating to the joint administration of the three contested church properties. While some matters remain to be negotiated, significant progress was made through this arbitration where previous joint administration meetings had failed. You can see the official “Minutes of Settlement” of the arbitration meeting on the ANiC website.

Bishop MIchael Bird.
When will you realize that you have taken a path from which there is no return for you. For many of us it is easy. We will not walk down that path you have chosen, but in not walking down that path many of your parishoners in Orangeville will have deep distress in a decision to leave. Why have you done this? Do you really want to split your Diocese. In the opinion of many the decision you have made was not yours to chose. You should have consulted your people before making a unilateral decision to bless Same Sex Unions. What you sow in the wind, you will reap in the whirlwind. May the lord have mercy on you, for time will not.
May the Love of Jesus prevail.
Not only has Mr Bird not consulted the people he has instructed the clergy not to consult with their parish vestries when performing a SSB. He does not want the congregations to be fully aware or informed as to what is happening.
