A Study in Contrasts

On May 14, two well known church leaders were given honourary Doctorates. The Rt. Rev. Michael Ingham by the Episcopal Divinity school, and J.I. Packer by Nashota house.

To have these two men recieve honourary doctorates on the same day is a practical illustration of the deep divide facing our church today.

Is there no shame? How can any one honour one of the originators of the split developing in the Anglican Church.

    For John:-
We should not be surprised. The apostates have taken over almost all theological colleges – you might call them “schools of apostasy” and the leadership in the ACoC and the Episcopal Church of the States seems content to either support the apostasy or simply sit back and hope it will go away. The time has long since past for orthodox leaders to call the apostates to account but that is not likely to happen. We pray for their conversion and repentance but that is highly unlikely as long as they believe their purple shirts and white collars makes them superior to God. The tragedy is that many sitting in the pews are being led away from their salvation.

I agree with you having graduated from one. I told Bishop Barry Curtis after our Church split; during a congregational meeting to recap why half of our congregation left that I could not think of any Anglican college to which I would send a theological student in Canada. All those leaving where very faithful Anglicans who had been taught tithing with the rest of the Gospel.
