Diocese of BC to hold Synod in St Mary’s building
The Diocese of BC is holding the second session of its synod on September 19 – 20 in the building from which they banished ANiC’s St Mary’s congregation (Victoria). The diocese won the right to use the facility until the issue of ownership is finally decided by the courts.
Now, I wonder why they would want to do that? I’ll leave that to the readers’ imaginations.
Update (David): The complete newsletter is Here

Clearly, there are no other buildings in BC that could house them. That must be the reason, mustn’t it?
Sounds to me more like a dog and a fire hydrant. This one is mine! Go away!
So incredibly childish.
I’m far from qualified to offer a legal opinion, but it seems to me that, if the primary goal is to prove to the courts that a property is still in active use by the Diocese, the action may make sense. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Diocese of BC received counsel to that effect.
I tend to agree with Steve L’s analysis…….
Take it a step further…..Bird will likely have Niagara in St. Georges (Lowville) building for synod the next time round….it’ll likely turn into one of “those things to do”.
