This was not written by me. It was edited in order to allow the author to remain anonymous. I think it is something we should all be praying about.
Who are we and where are we headed?
We need to be a church for something rather than a church
which is merely against things.
Please pray that we at St. _____s will embrace our vision
and move toward fulfilling our vision more and more, day by
day. “We commit to being a prayer-filled, evangelical
Anglican Church united under Christ, glorifying God, and
living out the gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
An evangelical Anglican Church is one which desires to
know God and bring Him Glory. We seek to know Christ in a
personal, loving and obedient manner, not just on Sunday
mornings but twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
We seek to be open to the Holy Spirit’s power, allowing Him
to guide, heal, strengthen and renew.
As evangelical Anglicans we are to learn to love all that is
godly in our Christian heritage from the day of Pentecost
until today. We especially desire to learn from the time the
first Christian missionaries brought the Gospel to the British
Isles, through to the English reformation.
As evangelicals we trust the Bible’s power, when read and
taught humbly, penitently, attentively and obediently, to form
and reform us. We believe “Christ crucified” is good news
and seek to proclaim Him so that more and more people will
come into a personal and loving relationship with Him. We
believe in prayer, that God desires us to talk to Him, pouring
out our hearts for ourselves and for the world – and that God
hears and can act.
Please pray that we will never be controlled by what we are
opposed to, but that the love of Christ will control us.

Yes – just so! Let’s look ahead with vision, not be defined by looking behind and in a negative way.
The climate in the church obstructs our view forward by having to look over our shoulder and to stop to clear the path. Perhaps it is God’s Will that we serve as a vanguard to the return to His teachings and the path, once established, will make those who follow behind us tread easier.
That’s my hope (and prayer. Although I’m not good at remembering to pray, Martha personality that I am).
I agree Prairie Words. We have made a stand and the remnant will be established to build on in the future. It is clear that God is removing the leadership from the West and giving it to those who cherish the Gospel (even if they aren’t perfect).
Today’s epistle was 1 Cor 1:10-18. As always, it seem most apposite.
Hi Henry, thanks for dropping by. V. 17 says:
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
The problem with the Anglican Church of Canada is that it has emptied the cross of its power, and no longer preaches the gospel. We are not called to be in unity at the expense of the good news.
Excellent article on an address yesterday by Bishop Duncan in south Carolina
