Network prayer ministry – Please pray that God will raise up those called to the ministry of prayer to work with us as we fight this spiritual battle on our knees.

Precious Saviour, please lead the people you want into the Network prayer ministry, and on the subject of prayer, we pray the collect for Trinity 23: Oh God, our refuge and strength, who art the author of all godliness: Be ready, we beseech thee, to hear the devout prayers of thy Church; and grant that those things which we ask faithfully we may obtain effectually; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Tuesday, January 22nd

Building an effective structure Please pray for Network leaders who are building the organizational structure to support and nurture orthodox churches.

Dearest Lord, we pray the words of Scripture for the Network leaders building a new organizational structure:

Nehemiah 2:17-18 (Nehemiah is speaking):

17 Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” 18 I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me.
They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.

Wednesday, January 23rd

Communion Primates and Provinces- Praise God for godly Communion leaders; pray for wisdom as they strive to faithfully lead their Provinces.

The (slightly adapted) collect from The form of ordaining or consecrating of an Archbishop or Bishop from the BCP

O Almighty God, who by thy Son Jesus Christ did give to thy Apostle Saint Peter many excellent gifts, and commanded him earnestly to feed thy flock: Make, we beseech thee, all Bishops and Pastors diligently to preach thy holy Word, and the people obediently to follow the same, that they may receive the crown of everlasting glory: through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Anglican Province of the Southern Cone – Thank God for the people of this province who have opened their door and their hearts to us

We pray the words of scripture for the people and leaders of the Anglican Diocese of the Southern Cone:

May the God of Peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Heb 13.20-21)

Your email isn’t showing up when I click on your name, so I hope you see this. I know that ANiC is trying to organize a prayer chain, but I don’t know who is in charge. The contact page for the Network is here:

    http://www.anglicannetwork.ca/contact.htm

If you email them I am sure that they will get back to you – or if you contact me at mrsfalstaff {at} gmail {dot} com, I have the info about who is in charge buried somewhere in my email, and I will dig it up and send it to you (you think I am being metaphorical, don’t you? My email is about as organized as my house….not.)

It would also be a great help if you would write a prayer for Jan 24 and post it in the comments – I couldn’t think of anything.

Kate – that’s funny I thought I put my e-mail address in the comments.

Anyway – why January 24th? Is something special happening? I do write prayers at my Church for the Celtic Services – if you give me an idea I can put something together.

Just because I couldn’t think of anything to write for the 24th – the bolded text is straight from the ANiC prayer emails.
