Thank you…

…for the warm welcome. Introduce myself? Well, my name’s Kate, I live in and attend a Network friendly church in the Ottawa area. I have my own blog called The Hairy Eyeball, and comment around the blogosphere under the pen name Mrs. Falstaff (and to be very clear, that pen name is no reflection on my other half).

I thought I’d start by posting today’s prayer request from the ANiC prayer calendar:

January 17. Network parishes under the jurisdiction of the Southern Cone

Church of the Resurrection (Hope, BC) – the Rev Dr Archie Pell

St John’s Richmond (BC) – the Rev Sean Love

And a prayer: (loosely based on a prayerbook prayer)

Most merciful father, we pray for the Church of the Resurrection, and St. John’s Richmond, that the members of both parishes may dwell together in unity and love. Keep far from them all self-will and discord. Endue Rev. Archie and Rev. Sean with righteousness and enable them to faithfully dispense your Holy Word and Sacraments, to bring again the outcasts, and to seek the lost. Grant that their parishioners may receive their ministrations, and use your means of grace, that in all their words and deeds they may seek your glory and the advancement of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

I would offer a warm Manitoba greeting, but my little weather screen is screaming -32 and a windchill of -45. Instead I offer a quiet prayer, one we often hear, but changed a bit for here “May the words we write and the meditations of our hearts, be now and always acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength and our redeemer.”

    Kate says:

Another Amen, PW! I guess there’s a reason for the nickname “Winterpeg”, eh?
