Dear brother in Christ,

I feel Essentials is silly.
When we all continue to fight, we break our Second Commandment.
It makes me think that we have not grown up in 2007 years.
I want peace.

Shalom !

Coline:
As a Sunday school teacher you are no doubt aware that Jesus himself said that He did not come to bring peace. I would humbly suggest that your wish, while admirable, is not only unrealistic but unbiblical. For me, I just want to please God and follow His stated plan for my life.

Coline:
This is not a fight, but perhaps that is how some see it. I see the ACC has slowly lost touch with tradition and instead opted for political correctness rather than scriptural truth. Aligning with another province is no more a sin than switching denominations. As the ACC will not honor it's traditions we have chosen to worship in an environment that maintains our history. What seems to disturb most people that rather than abandon Anglicanism wholesale we are trying to recapture a vestage of our proud past.

A fight? I believe Essentials has been turning the cheek avoiding just such a characterization. As the Rector's wife now living in a rural small and large C conservative region you will discover that there is support for this traditional philosophy. We will continue to love those who slowly erode our church and pray for them, but will not condone what is being done. (Love the sinner, hate the sin, paraphrased)
Bp Malcolm has stepped bravely forward, many will follow.

My family and I live in Whatcom County, Washington State near the border with B.C. We are desperately seeking another church that has not and will not walk away from the faith of the Apostles. There is no safe place for us to go. The Diocese of Olympia is one of the most revisionist in the Episcopal Church. We are seriously considering either swimming the Tiber to Rome or the Bosporus to Eastern Orthodoxy. Are there any Anglican Churches near the border of B.C. and Whatcom County that are holding true to the faith where we could find safe haven?

Peter:
thank you for that URL in 6 above. Didn't know about it, not that I need it right yet, but the day will possible come if something doesn't happen for us where we are.
Coline ~
We must be following the Scripture, otherwise, what is taught in Sunday School is of no value. Find the Scripture that says - "Go and Sin no more" and then ponder....I'm sure that The Holy Spirit will guide you in this is you ask Him too.
Shalom!

to #5 Mary - slim pickings in the Dio. of NW across the line however St. Matthews Abbotsford or St John's Vancouver as they are bible believing. Try www.stjohnsshaughnessy.org under sermons for a wealth of current & archived sermons along with the "learners exchange" lectures. It is a trip across the line however you are welcome to join us - always a number of WA State car plates around. A number of good churches of other denominations are about not yet picked off by purpose driven decontenting.
