Today’s entry from the Network Conference prayer guide, “Contending for the Gospel Through Prayer”:

“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.” John 17: 25

Why does Jesus seemingly belabour the fact that the Father sent Him? Perhaps because He knew that this truth would be assailed by philosophers, sceptics and the “religious” establishment throughout the centuries. As we begin the week leading up to the conference, let us rejoice in the knowledge that our Saviour was indeed sent by our loving Father “that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”!
